The Roots

Bagatelle has two meanings derived from its Latin origin. It describes a « small estate » or in a festive context, « an acrobatic trick performed by a tumbler ». Who, more than Clos Bagatelle can express this duality, Cartesian rigor combined with joy of life.

It was during the Renaissance that this term has crossed the border giving its name to Clos Bagatelle in Saint Chinian, then to Château de Bagatelle and its park in Paris in the 18th century.
